Website Launch: StaceyDesigns.com

Proud to (finally) launch StaceyDesigns.com

Well, the time has finally come. I have decided to quit picking over small details and launch my new portfolio. This has been a work in progress for over a year.

WAIT, what..a year?? Yes, a year, I have the hosting renewal bill to prove it. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it a priority in my life or else it would have been launched months ago. Total time I spent on it was easily less than two weeks total. And months and months of this nagging feeling that I need to finish it. One thing I need to get better at is setting time aside for personal development.

So much has changed since I started. I went through three logos, 2 different color choices. I couldn’t figure out how I wanted my portfolio to look (and to be honest, I am still not sure it’s the final look…but is it ever?).

At one point, I started to build my own theme. I actually still have those files, and plan on working on that in my downtime (so 5 years from now I might be close to finishing it). I decided to ease up on myself and use the 2013 WordPress starter theme. See the screenshot below.

So my next step, customize the crap out of it. I added a project post type, created a custom page template, made a full width page template. I enjoyed (pretty much) every second of it. (BTW..2013 theme has some funky sidebar issues going on. Has anybody else struggled with it?)

And…I am pretty much in love with this site. For the time being. Until I get the itch again for another redesign.

That’s all I got for right now. It’s late, I need sleep. I am launching this bad boy tomorrow.
